WHEREAS, the County has expressed the desire to further affordable
housing initiatives, with passage of a resolution approving Plan 2000 on
August 13, 1996; and
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXTENSION
FROM MAY 31, 1997 TO SEPTEMBER 30, 1997
AND BUDGET REVISION OF THE INTERLOCAL
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF
MONROE AND THE MONROE COUNTY
HOUSING AUTHORITY FOR THE
IMPLEMENTATION OF PLAN 2000.
WHEREAS, the Monroe County Housing Authority has prepared an
affordable housing plan called "Plan 2000" for Monroe County which
documents the need for additional affordable housing and proposes
programs to address this need by leveraging Federal and State grants and
loans with local Land Authority funds; and
WHEREAS, the Land Authority has appropriated funds for the acquisition
of real property to implement those Plan 2000 projects selected and
prioritized by the Advisory Committee as summarized in Resolution No. 06-
1996; and
WHEREAS, the parties proceeded in a timely manner with the
implementation of Plan 2000 by providing the interim funding required in
October 1996; and
WHEREAS, the Monroe County Housing Authority has requested a time
extension of the Interlocal Agreement from May 31, 1997 to September 30,
1997 in order to continue implementation of Plan 2000 activities without an
increase in the original approved budget; and
WHEREAS, the Monroe County Housing Authority additionally request a
budget revision to the originally approved budget.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY that the Interlocal Agreement
between the County of Monroe and the Monroe County Housing Authority
be extended from May 31, 1997 to September 30, 1997 and the attached
budget revision approved.
PASSED and ADOPTED, by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida at a regular meeting of said Board held on the
17th day of September, A,D., 1997,
