RESOLUTION NO. 397-1997
A RESOLUTION FOR THE COOPERATIVE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CONSOLIDATED
MONROE COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICES SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has adopted a consolidated Emergency Services
System and has provided funding for that system in the adopted fiscal year 1998 budget; and
WHEREAS, concern has been expressed by the Fire Chiefs' Association that the implementation of
this program has as little negative impact as possible upon the volunteer organizations; and
WHEREAS, Fire Chiefs' Association has asked that they be part of the planning and implementation
as this program goes forward; and

A "working group" be established consisting of the foll~ing: tIDe 0

Section 1.
representatives from the Fire Chief's Association, one from each area of the Keys, the Director of Public
Safety, the Fire Rescue Coordinator, the EMS Operations Manager, and Mr. Art French representing the
Board of Governors.
Section 2.
The County Administrator will initially meet with this working group and periodically
during its discussions to assist in resolving issues and moving the process forward.
Section 3.
The County Administrator will resolve operational issues that cannot be agreed
upon by the working group and will bring forward to the Board of County Commissioners only those issues,
if any, that are clearly within the purview of the Board.
