The application established the basis for the historic designation of "122 Lowe Street" under Code Section 9.5-452, and included other evidence that supports the designation, as set forth on the application, which documents the historic, social, and cultural significance of "122 Lowe Street"; and 4 . The application has been reviewed by the Historic Florida Keys Preservation Board, which recommends "122 Lowe Street" for local historic designation, as evidenced by the May 9, 1997, approval by the Board; 5. The application has been reviewed by the Planning Staff, who recommends "122 Lowe Street" for landmark designation, as stated in the staff report to the Monroe County Planning Commission dated August 7, 1997; and 6. The Monroe County Planning Commission during a regular session held on October 22, 1997 conducted a public hearing to designate "122 Lowe Street" as an "Historical and Cultural Landmark" as specified in Section 9.5-452 (c), of the Monroe County Code. Amended, in that the property is associated with events of cultural, social, and historical significance to Monroe County; and page 1 122LOWE.06/TXTHIST, #97055 Initials WHEREAS, the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners has considered the proposed designation and the recommendations of the Historic Florida Keys Preservation Board, the Planning Department, and the Planning Commission, and has made the following Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law: Based on the recommendation of the Historic Florida Keys Preservation Board and supporting evidence, the Board of County Commissioners finds that the house at 122 Lowe Street reflects an architectural style or type that is of traditional Florida Keys character. Therefore, the Board of County Commissioners concludes that 122 Lowe Street is eligible for landmark designation pursuant to Section 9.5-452(c) of the Monroe County Land Development Regulations. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA THAT: BOARD OF COUNTY The preceding Findings of Fact and Conclusions, support its decision to APPROVE the designation of 11122 Lowe Streetll, Tavernier, Florida, as an IIHistorical and Cultural Landmark II as provided for by Article VIII of the Monroe County Code, Amended.
