Ordinance 061-1997Building Official ORDINANCE No. 061 -19977 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SEC. 6-16(a) MONROE- COUNTY CODE, BY AN ORDINANCE ADOPTINd,_'THE: 1997 STANDARD BUILDING CODE WITH APPEND'IF;C-- AS THE CODE APPLICABLE IN THE UNINCORPORATED �-17 AREAS OF MONROE COUNTY; PROVIDING FOR SEVER ABILITY; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF ALL 4�tDI--_ NANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH; PROVIDING: -'FOB; INCORPORATION INTO THE MONROE COUNTY GQDEF"' AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. r ry BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: Section 1. Sec. 6-16(a), Monroe County Code, is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 6-16(a), The 1:994 1997 Edi- tion of the Standard Building Code with Appendix C, as adopted by the Southern Build- ing Code Congress International, Inc., is hereby adopted as the county building code and shall be applicable to all building within the unincorporated areas of the coun- ty, unless expressly rejected or modified by the board of County commissioners by ordi- nance. Section 2. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, or provision of this Ordinance is held invalid, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected by such invalidity. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in con- flict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of said conflict. Section 4. The provisions of this Ordinance shall be included and incorporated in the Code of Ordinances of the County of Monroe, Florida, as an addition or amendment thereto, and shall be appropriately renumbered to conform to the uniform num- bering system of the Code. Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon receipt of official notice from the Office of the Secretary of State of the State of Florida that this Ordinance has been filed with said Office.
