A RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF
DANNY L. i\OLHAGE THE LATE BLUE LUNDEN

WREREA'S, Blue Lunden, a lifelong activist, passed away on August 4, 1999; and
Mayor Wilhelmina G. Harvey
WHEREAS, Blue devoted herself to social justice issues such as the lesbian and gay and
women's movements; and
WHEREAS, Blue was honored in 1998 by the Women's International League for Peace and
Freedom for her commitment to raising the social conscience; and
WHEREAS, Blue was an active and well-loved member of the Unitarian Universalist Church,
and a founder of the Paradise Club at the Lesbian and Gay Community Center; and
WHEREAS, Blue, a woman with a wide range of interests who had the courage to be herself,
lived consciously and created community response wherever she was, and inspired us all to bring
about a better world; and
WHEREAS, Blue leaves her loving daughter, Linda; her son-in-law, Sam; her grandson, Drew;
her brother, Tom, and many, many loving friends to cherish her memory; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Board hereby adopts this Resolution as evidence of its regret and mourning
for the passing of the late Blue Lunden, a great and warm-hearted person.
Section 2. The Board hereby requests the Mayor to forward copies of this Resolution to
Blue's family expressing the Board's sincere condolences.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida,
at a regular meeting of said Board held on the B t" day of September 1999.
