Ordinance 037-1996Building Department ORDINANCE NO. 037 -1996 AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, CREATING SECTION 6-45, MONROE COUNTY CODE, PROVIDING FOR INSPECTIONS; PERMITTING INSPECTIONS BY PROFESSIONAL ARCHITECTS OR ENGINEERS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR T8E REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWIF; x r*i PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION INTO THE MONRqv-2;- COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES; AND PROVIDING FOIF` - c AN EFFECTIVE DATE _ ; 0% `-: N c ; -' o WHEREAS, homeowners and contractors may wish to expedite c'onstr'uctibM by ti"Iring professional architects or engineers to conduct inspections required under the Building Code; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, THAT: Section 1. Section 6-45, Monroe County Code, shall be created to read as follows: All inspections shall be made by Monroe County Building Inspectors unless the Building Official issues an approval allowing for inspections to be conducted by professional architects or engineers. Special inspection approval must be obtained by executing and submitting to the Building Department an "Application for Special Inspections" and said approval must be obtained prior to the inspections being conducted. Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 3. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, item, change or provision of this ordinance is held invalid, the remainder of this ordinance shall not be affected by such invalidity. Sec. 6-45, MCC Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon receipt of official notice from the Office of the Secretary of State of the State of Florida that this ordinance has been filed with said Office. Section 5. The Clerk of the Board is hereby directed to forward a copy of this Ordinance to Municipal Code Corporation for incorporation into the Monroe County Code of Ordinances.
