TO BE HEARD PRIOR TO THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS' CONVENING. ITEM BACKGROUND: Ordinance No. 045-1988 provides that the Board of Governors of Fire and Ambulance District 1 (BOG) shall consist of 3 members of the Board of County Commissioners and, if only one city participates, two members of the governing body of the one city (either Key Colony Beach or the City of Layton); or, if both cities participate, one member of the governing body from each city. The ordinance further requires that the designation of members to the BOG by the County and the participating city (cities)be done by resolution. This item should be heard prior to the Board of Governor's being convened at the BOCC 01/18/23 meeting as the BOG will be electing the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of the BOG for 2023 at the BOCC 01/18/23 meeting. Adoption of this resolution by the Board satisfies the requirements for the designation of three County Commissioners to the BOG pursuant to Ordinance No. 045-1988. Section 2 If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or provision of this Ordinance is held invalid, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected by such invalidity.
