PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION:
The Monroe County Board of County Commissioners and the County Administrator determined that
there was a need to recognize outstanding performance of Monroe County employees. Reference
(A) and previous actions established an Employee of the Month/Employee of the Year program. At
the August Personnel Policies and Procedures Committee meeting, it was voted to revise the current
award of a monthly award to a quarterly award. The Employee of the Year award will remain as it is
currently provided as part of this Administrative Instruction. The BOCC approved the changes at

Michaela has been, and continues to be,a key employee in our progress with our new electronic
permitting software. Although her main duties include ensuring her team in the Marathon office are
well trained in their positions Michaela has embraced the challenge of working to assist all employees
through testing of the program, including myself and others on the implementation team. Michaela
leaves no software stone unturned, constantly checking and rechecking to ensure that the program is
working properly every time a configuration change is made. This effort has continued for many months,
and now that we are very close to implementation, Michaela's efforts have only increased, showing her
dedication to working to see that the product will be the best that it can be when we go live with
electronic permitting. Her efforts have assisted in creating the great energy the entire team has toward
this monumental change to permitting. We continue to laud her work and look forward to her
continuing professionalism in the coming months not only with electronic permitting but with
everything she does.
