MCFR is seeking to formalize the department's organizational structure by designating specific technical divisions. This position will serve as part of the command staff of the fire department operations/administration and will have the rank of Division Chief. ITEM BACKGROUND: Monroe County Fire Rescue is seeking to formalize the department's organizational structure by designating specific technical divisions. Consequently, MCFR is seeking BOCC approval to include a new Division Chief position in the Fiscal Year 2023 operating budget. The range for a pay grade 319 position is $96,449.73 (minimum)to $154,319.56 (maximum). This position will provide direction and leadership to the fire training staff through program and course development, as well as the fire fighter standards training provided by the Fire Academy. This position is required to provide administrative guidance,program management and fiscal accountability. The department places a high value on the education of its members, we realize that well educated employees are critical to the future success of our organization. Therefore, this position will ensure that fire rescue personnel receive appropriate training and the department builds a higher level of competency for firefighters to consistently perform efficiently, effectively and safely within the department's standard operating guidelines for emergency services delivery.
