City Platmer. Salary approximately $70,000 I year. Supervises the Planning Department
consisting of 6 employees (4 plalU1ers and 2 administrative assistants).
Responsible for updating the comprehensive plan, conducting special studies and
coordinating review of medium to large development proposals.
Regularly coordinates with the Building and Code Enforcement Department
Began implementation of the land development regulations adopted under the previous
city planner.
Expanded the city's website by overseeing the addition of development applications, the
zoning map, aerial photographs, and the Statistical Abstract.
Co-director of the emergency operations center.
State of Florida. Department of Community Affairs. February 1995 - Julv 1998
Planning Manager of the field office of the Florida Keys Area of Critical State Concern.
Salary approximately $35,000 I year. Responsible for supervising the 4 employees.
Reviewed all local permits for compliance with local comprehensive plans.
Assisted local agencies to come together on issues of mutual concern. One initiative was
reconciling development rights, traffic congestion and the potential loss of critical habitat
of the Key Deer.
Private Consultant. Julv 1994 to Januarv 1995
Co-author of the Bahama Village Redevelopment Plan.
Consultant to private individuals regarding comprehensive plans and development
regulations in Key West and the Florida Keys.
Monroe County, Florida (the Florida Kevs). April 1984 to April 1994
Project Manager, Land Development Regulations. Prepared a major rewrite of the Land
Development Regulations for the new comprehensive plan.
Development Review Coordinator. Responsible for supervising county staff and chairing
an interagency committee during the review of development proposals. Developed a
process for tracking development applications and all related staff work in the County's
computer system.
Principal author of the Ports, Aviation and Related Facilities and Transit Elements of the
updated comprehensive plan for Monroe County.

Hurricane Andrew Emergency Operations Center Planner. Drafted a map of Florida City
for use by all agencies providing emergency relief and co~produced a trilingual newsletter
for distribution to hurricane victims.
Member of the South Florida Metropolitan Area Aviation System Plan Steering
Committee.
Capital Improvements Coordinator. Prepared annual assessments of the capacity of
public facilities
Coordinated redrafting of the zoning maps.
Coordinated traffic impact review with the Florida Department of Transportation,
developed traffic study guidelines and directed private traffic impact studies prepared for
developers by private consultants.
Acting Senior Planner. Worked with the project manager in supervising thc planning
staff preparing the comprehensive plan and land development regulations.
Citv of Sanibel, Florida. 1977 to 1980
Senior planner. Participated in all aspects of planning and development review. This
ranged from planning bicycle paths to reviewing the development application for a
reverse osmosis water treatment plant with storage tanks.
Planning technician. Co-produced the Ecological Zones Map for Sanibel Island.
