Agenda Item Wording: Discussion of the Proposed GMPs submitted by Morganti for the Key West
International Airport, New Terminal Building and Renovation Project and the Florida Keys Marathon Airport
Hurricane Damage Repair work. Discussion of alternatives and how to proceed.
Item Background: On Tuesday the 12th of September, 2006, Monroe County Staff and the A&E consultants
from URS met with Morganti to review the GMP. A list of approximately 40 cost reducing alternatives, totaling
$4.6 million dollars, was discussed. Of that list, only approximately $1 million dollars is feasible. Morganti's
GMP remains at $29,450,771 as opposed to the County's budget of $25,000,000. Morganti's latest GMP
Proposal does not include any of the additional cost impacts related to their 30 item list of assumptions and
conditions, their phasing and safety plan or the cost of redesign, all of which will further increase the Project's
cost by an estimated $3,000,000.
