for Monroe County Environmental Health(EH) Fee Schedule.
ITEM BACKGROUND:
The Monroe County EH Fee Schedule was last updated in 2010. Recommended updates are based on
best practices from other counties and the EH Division in Tallahassee. The EH Fee Schedule is
indirectly related to the BOCC funding request for FDOH as the fee adjustments will ensure the EH
department is financially self-sufficient.

Subject: 2023-2024 Environmental Health Fee Schedule
Based on our records, the Fee Schedule for Environmental Health(EH) service provision in Monroe County was
last updated in 2010. As such,FDOH-Monroe conducted an in-depth analysis of labor costs for each service
provided. We also conferred with other counties throughout the state and the Environmental Health Division in
Tallahassee to prepare a Fee Schedule for Monroe County comparable to those with more recent updates.
Revenue generated from Environmental Health services, once approved, will support all departmental functions,
and an additional 0.5 FTE to assist with public pool inspections throughout the county.
Changes to the Fee Schedule are outlined with a side-by-side comparison in Exhibit A. Of note, many EH
services are currently being provided at no charge as indicated by a dash symbol. Please reach out with any
questions. Thank you for your consideration!
