AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Presentation of New Viper E911 Telecommunications System.
ITEM BACKGROUND: The Monroe County Sheriffs Office Emergency Communications Division
oversaw the installation of a new Next Generation E911 System. The Marathon and Key West call
centers, as well as the Ocean Reef DPS call center received new state-of-the-art call answering
equipment. The total purchase price is $904, 908.51. Monroe County received a grant from the State
of Florida E911 Board in the amount of $657, 299.39 and the remainder $247, 609.12 was paid from
non-ad valorem funds.
