Lin International for on call engineering services. ITEM BACKGROUND: Miscellaneous engineering services are required for various County projects on an ongoing basis; Engineering Department advertised a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and received 44 responses. The selection committee ranked the responses on September 28, 2009. The firms listed above were ranked first, second, fourth, sixth, seventh and eighth, respectively. Subsequent to the selection committee meeting, staff was advised that the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority (FKAA) had terminated an agreement with HDR Engineering, the third ranked firm, due in part to performance related issues. Based on this staff is requesting approval to not include this firm in negotiations. PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: The BOCC approved advertising the RFQ at the June 2009 BOCC meeting. If negotiations fail, approval to continue negotiating with the next ranked firm until successful negotiations are achieved with six firms.
