WHEREAS, there can be no greater loss to a family than that of a
child's passing: and
WHEREAS, the memorial remembrance of the life of that child,
provides some small solace to the family: and
WHEREAS, the second Sunday of December of each year has
been designated by the Congress of the United States as National
Childrens Memorial Day.
NOW THEREFORE, by virtue of the power vested in me as
Mayor of Monroe County, Florida, I, George Neugent,
do hereby proclaim Sunday, December 13 ,2009,
CHILDREN'S MEMORIAL DAY
in Monroe County, Florida and urge this day to be dedicated to the
celebration of the lives of our children lost.
