ITEM BACKGROUND: In August, 2009, the YMCA submitted a check for $8,000 toward the
replacement of broken playground equipment at the Key Largo Community Park. The $8,000 check
was comprised of generous donations from the following:
$1,000 from Key Largo Rotary; $1,000 from The Orange Bowl--Dr. James Boilini; $700 from the
Florida Keys Board of Realtors; and $5,300 from the YMCA of Greater Miami and various
Anonymous donors (individual donations, yard sales, plant sales, etc.)

RESOLUTION NO. -2009
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING RESTRICTED
DONATIONS TOTALING $8,000.00 FOR PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT
AT KEY LARGO COMMUNITY PARK.
WHEREAS, funds have been donated from various individuals and groups to support the
Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, in making improvements at Key
Largo Community Park; and
WHEREAS, the restricted donations were submitted to the County for the sole purpose of
purchasing replacement playground equipment at Key Largo Community Park; and
WHEREAS, the County has received estimates to replace the broken playground
equipment with the lowest amount being $9,234.34; and
WHEREAS, the County will fund the additional $1,234.34 to complete the purchase of the
replacement playground equipment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, THAT:
1. Restricted donations totaling $8,000.00 from the following donors are hereby accepted
and the funds are hereby applied toward the cost of replacement playground
equipment at the Key Largo Community Park:
$1,000 from Key Largo Rotary; $1,000 from The Orange Bowl--Dr. James Boilini;
$700 from the Florida Keys Board of Realtors; and $5,300 from the YMCA of Greater Miami
and various Anonymous donors (individual donations, yard sales, plant sales, etc.)
2. This Resolution shall become effective upon the date of its adoption herein.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida, at a regular meeting held on the 16th day of September, 2009.

WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, to increase items to
account for unanticipated ftmds in the Monroe County Budget for the Fiscal Year 2009, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA,
that the following accounts of the Monroe County Budget for the Fiscal Year 2009, be and the same is hereby increased
by the amount hereinafter set forth:
