The property consists of a 7,000 square foot subdivision lot developed with a duplex built in 1950. The property is conforming with respect to zoning density and each unit is a three-bedroom, one-bathroom design. A.H. of Monroe County, Inc. (AIDS Help) proposes to acquire the site and manage the property as affordable rental housing for eventual use by persons living with HIV/AIDS and affected family members. The owner’s asking price is $550,000, which equates to $275,000 per unit. The level of Land Authority participation in this acquisition, if any, will be determined at a future meeting following the completion of appraisals. The addition of property to the Acquisition List is a preliminary, non-binding step indicating the Board’s desire to pursue the property.
