After a year and a half in that position, she was promoted to Library Administrator. Although she still holds that position, she has enlarged, expanded upon, and updated the duties of her position to meet the changing needs of the Library. With her understanding of the changes in Library technologies and her ability and willingness to meet these new challenges, Anne has become in fact the System Administrator as well as Administrator for the Library system. She has assumed in-house responsibility for the operation and enhancement of the Library information system, performing ongoing system maintenance, customizations, and overseeing new installations. She troubleshoots and resolves system problems and acts as primary contact with the system vendor, while coordinating Library automation system needs with the County Technical Services Department. Anne has taken a special interest in digitizing particular areas of the Florida History collection, especially the photographic collection, and has been successful in writing and administering grants for several of these projects, partnering with FIU and other state agencies to add these materials to online databases. Just recently, working with Florida International University, she launched a popular website of Keys Oral Histories, Other grants that Anne has been awarded have filled needs such as staff training programs, preservation of historic materials, and a literacy program, for which she received the State Library "Exemplary Award." For her work within the community, she was named the 2004 "Woman of Integrity" by Samuel's House. Most significantly, Anne considers one of her true successes the crafting of the Library Customer Service Policy, which was designed to emphasize the basic theme of her work and that of the entire Library system: Library users are the most important aspect of our work. This creed has symbolized Anne's dedication for the past ten years, and we are extremely proud of the contributions she has made to Library service and to Monroe County during this time. Thank you, Anne, for all that you have done.
