EMPLOYEE SERVICE AWARD
JANUARY, 2008
TONY GARTENMAYER
Tony Gartenmayer first began his employment with Monroe County in January of
1995, as a Mason, and in 1997, he was reclassified to his current position of Building
Maintenance Specialist.
Tony is a very conscientious and dependable employee. He handles each project with
a positive outlook and he always goes above and beyond to do his best work. He is a model
employee who has a positive attitude and he willingly provides assistance to anyone who
needs it, whether it be a fellow co-worker or customers of the County with their day-to-day
requests.
Tony has been recognized in the local media several times for the outstanding work
he has done. He was recognized for manufacturing and installing a children's picnic bench
at Astro City at Higgs Beach, and he has also been recognized for his relentless hours of hard
work and commitment at the African Memorial at Higgs Beach, where he spent numerous,
meticulous hours constructing that project.
Most recently Tony helped complete renovations at the Conch Key Fire Station which
turned out beautifully and to everyone's satisfaction.
Tony is the epitome of an outstanding, dedicated and hard working employee. His
knowledge, skills and abilities shine through in every project that he completes and he saves
the County a tremendous amount of time and money. Tony was Employee of the Month in
August of 1997, and we proudly recognize him today for achieving the January, 2008,
Employee Service Award. Keep up the good work!
