ITEM BACKGROUND: There was one change order considered and approved by the County Administrator for the period beginning May 1, 2008 and ending May 31, 2008, at no cost to the County. There were not any change order requests denied to the Contractor by Engineering or Facilities Development. PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: On September 9, 1998, Ordinance No. 026-1998 was adopted in order to provide that the County Administrator may approve separate, non-cumulative change orders for construction projects and professional service contracts in amounts not to exceed $25,000.00 or 5% of the original contract price, whichever is greater. The BOCC requested a monthly report of all change orders considered by the County Administrator. Substantial Completion was as stated on Change Order 2,5 May 2008. In accordance with General Provisions 7.2, PB recommends to the County that this change order be approved and processed. Please see attached explanation.) According to the ordinance adopted by the Board of County Commissioners, proposed change orders are to be presented to members of the Board of County Commissioners prior to approval, assuming they are within the Administrator's prescribed limits. Change orders not within the Administrator's authority are placed on the BOCC agenda.
