During his tenure with the County, James has held various positions such as Maintenance Worker, Foreman, Crew Chief, Heavy Equipment Operator, Environmental Inspector and Specialist. In February of 1996, he was promoted to his current position as Environmental Coordinator of Household Hazardous Waste. James is an integral part of the Solid Waste Management team. He is the sole operator of the County -wide household hazardous waste program, making sure that household hazardous waste is properly collected, stored and disposed. He makes it is easy and convenient for the public to properly dispose of household hazardous wastes and this helps prevent pollution. James has received letters of commendation for his efforts and has been recognized by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for conducting successful hazardous waste collection events. He found a source of free steel drums which he recycles and uses to haul out hazardous waste which saves the County money. James is an asset to Public Works and Monroe County, and we are pleased to recognize him today for his 30+ years of dedicated service. Keep up the good work!
