EMPLOYEE SERVICE AWARD
OCTOBER, 2007
LUDWIG "SKI" WITKOWSKI
Ludwig "Ski" Witkowski has been a valued County employee since February of
1994. After the completion of the Monroe County Detention Center, the County was
fortunate to have Ski stay on and oversee the complex electrical systems that the facility
possesses.
Since he began with the County, Ski has broken down departmental boundaries
in readily helping various departments with their electrical challenges, and his invaluable
expertise and service is utilized not only on a regular basis, but especially after storm
events. From keeping the reuse water system operational right after Wilma, to designing
and installing electrical/communication service for the Sheriff's temporary office space,
Ski has saved the taxpayers thousands of dollars.
As a Master Electrician, Ski possesses extensive electrical knowledge, which he
utilizes with a dedication and concern over best value for the taxpayer, safety and
customer welfare. Each day, Ski accomplishes his tasks in a safe and caring manner
that shows personnel at the Jail and wherever he works, that health, safety and welfare
is his number one mission.
Just recently, Ski's expertise was used at Bayshore Manor. His plan provided
emergency backup power for the entire facility rather than just fans and lights as
originally proposed. Because of his knowledge, skills and abilities, a project of this size
was able to be done in house at a great savings of taxpayer dollars.
Ski is an outstanding, conscientious and dedicated employee. He is an asset to
Public Works and Monroe County, and we are proud to recognize him today as the
recipient of the October, 2007, Employee Service Award. Keep up the good work!
