Prior to joining Mariners, Mr. Lazo was Chief Operating Officer at Parkway Regional Medical Center in North Miami Beach, Florida, from 2004 to 2006; Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officers at MacNeal Hospital in Berwin, Illinois, from 2003 to 2004; Chief Executive Officer and Regional Director of Operations at HEALTHSOUTH Rehabilitation Hospital of Miami in Miami, Florida from 1997 to 2003. He also was employed at Phymatrix and The Coker Group both in Atlanta; United Medical Corporation in Orlando, Florida and Mercy Hospital in Miami, Florida. Mr. Lazo holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from Nova Southeastern University, H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and a Bachelor of Science from Barry University in Miami, Florida. Mr. Lazo is actively involved in Upper Keys community and business organizations. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Key Largo Chamber of Commerce as President -Elect and has been appointed to the various Chamber committees including the Executive, Transportation, Workforce and Strategic Alliances Initiatives committees. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Rural Health Network of Monroe County, Inc., the Board of Directors of the Good Health Clinic, The Board of Directors of Leadership Monroe County and graduate of Class XVI and is Vice Chair of the Monroe County Upper Keys Health Care Taxing District Advisory Board. He is a member of the American College of Health Care Executives. Mr. Lazo has been married for 31 years to Olga. They have two children - Jennifer, a Pharm-D, Registered Pharmacist now residing in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Eric, a Civil Engineer now residing in Tallahassee who just completed a Masters in Civil Engineering and Construction Management at Florida State University. During times of leisure he enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, reading and playing.
