ITEM BACKGROUND: At its regular April 2021 meeting, the BOCC approved to increase the boat ramp and entrance fees at Harry Harris Park for non-residents on weekends, holidays*, and the annual two-day mini lobster season. The current fee structure has proven to be tedious to enforce which has caused significant back-ups in traffic entering the park. These back-ups have impacted the residents of the neighborhood as well as park patrons. Staff recommends a simplified fee structure of the following: Regular weekends Car: $15.00 Boat Ramp fee: $40.00 Holidays and Mini Season Car: $15.00 Boat Ramp fee: $60.00 The remaining language regarding fee waivers for military personnel, first responders, etc. shall remain 476 the same. PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: At its regular April 2021 meeting, the BOCC approved to increase the boat ramp and entrance fees at Harry Harris Park for non-residents on weekends, holidays*, and the annual two-day mini lobster season as follows: Fee for use of the boat ramp increased from $30 to $40 Entrance fees for weekends for non-county residents increased as follows: Admission fee for adults (ages 18-64) from $5/person to $8/person Admission fee for youth(ages 3-17) and seniors (65 and over) no change from current $5/person Admission fees waived for active duty military and disabled veterans and immediate family(with proper ID) Entrance fees for holidays* and the July two-day lobster mini-season for non-county residents increased as follows: Admission fee for adults (ages 18-64) from $5/person to $15/person Admission fee for youth(ages 3-17) and seniors (65 and over) from $5/person to $10/person Admission fees waived for active duty military and disabled veterans and immediate family(with proper ID) *Holidays that fall on a Friday or a Monday will extend the holiday fee throughout the entire weekend. CONTRACT/AGREEMENT CHANGES: Update per person fees to instead reflect vehicle entry fees for non-county residents and increase boat ramp fees on holidays and mini season from $40.00 to $60.00 for non-county residents. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Approve DOCUMENTATION: FINANCIAL IMPACT: Negligible change to revenue. 477
