Biography Craig Marston
Acting Fire Marshal Craig Marston is being recognized for his 10 years of service with
Monroe County Fire Rescue.
Craig's knowledge and experience are unparalleled. October 16'h marks his fortieth-year
anniversary in the fire service as Marston previously served with the city of Key West Fire
Department.
Originally from Meriden, Connecticut, he moved to Key West in 1980 where he met his
wife, Linda. In 1984 he graduated from the Florida Fire State College and became a firefighter
with the city of Key West. In 1987 he subsequently became a Fire Inspector with Key West and
obtained a master's degree in Disaster Management from Florida International University.
He is currently the Acting Fire Marshal and is managing the Fire Marshal's Office which
covers unincorporated Monroe County, Layton, Key Largo and Ocean Reef. He is responsible
for performing new and redevelopment plans reviews and inspections, code compliance, fire
investigations and fire prevention, and managing the Fire Marshal's Office staff who also
provide fire prevention and life safety education.
Monroe County appreciates Craig Marston's professionalism and dedication to Fire
Prevention by keeping the residents and visitors of the Florida Keys safe.
