Dear Anne Layton Rice:
The Board of County Commissioners wishes to recognize long term employees for their
contributions to the citizens of the County and to their successful completion of many years of
service. I am most pleased to inform you that you are to be recognized for 25 years of service with
Monroe County.
As part of this recognition, you have been awarded a decorative pin, a $500.00 award, and
recognition at the upcoming Board of County Commissioners meeting. The Board of County
Commissioners and the Administration certainly appreciate your commitment and service to the
citizens of the County. The following will be read at the November meeting.
Anne Layton Rice has served the Monroe County Public Library System for the past 25years. She is
known for her combination of intelligence, technical skill, and being an absolute pleasure to work
with. As the Library System's Assistant Director of Support Services, she leads her team with the
approaches of transparency, making strong connections, and being adept at problem-solving. One
example is Anne's role of system administrator for the Library System's enterprise software
solutions, determining the top-level configurations and system settings
Her Library Director, her co-workers, and her staff all agree, she is one of the reasons this Library
System has reached its high levels of success. She is known throughout Monroe County for her
decades of noteworthy achievements. Recently, she co-wrote and presented the 2022 ARPA grant
application that won the largest grant amount ever awarded to a Florida Library System.
In addition, during her stellar 25 years of service, she has managed the staff of the Florida Keys
History Center and under her leadership, the Florida History archival collection continues to grow
and expand with many exciting development plans in the works. The Library System and its patrons
are forever grateful for Anne's exceptional service as a library and information systems professional.
Respectfully,
Kim6crly Matthews
