Authorization to institute collection proceedings and/or enter settlement negotiations with Christopher
and Laurie Conn in Code Enforcement Case No. CE03120083.
ITEM BACKGROUND:
On May 10, 2004 the Conn's were cited for multiple violations of County Code. The case was set
before the Special Magistrate on July 28,2005. The Special Magistrate found the Conn's in violation of
the following County Codes;
9.5-111 for erecting a fence and deck and installing windows, doors and a pool all without a permit,
9.5-281 for violating the minimum yard setback,
9.5-309(a) for violating the height limit on the un-permitted fence,
9.5-309(g) for erecting the fence without a permit,
9.5-316.1 for performing extensive renovations on their mobile home without bringing the home in ot
compliance with the flood plain regulations, and
9.5-317 converting a shed in to living space.
The Special Magistrate ordered that the property be brought into compliance by July 21, 2005;
otherwise, beginning July 22, 2005, fines in the amount of $100.00 per count per day would begin to
run. As of March 31, 2007 the property has not been brought into compliance and fines and costs total
$336,000.
