Savannah, Georgia for Liverpool, Englankand
WHEIZEAS, this was the first successful crossing of the -Atlantic by a ship- using
steam propulsion; and
WHEREAS, each year on this 1day, men, and women from all over the United
States currently serving in the American Merchant Marines- are,honored, along.with the
