SUBJECT: Approval to Apply for Disaster Recovery Funding
We intend to request $320,000 from Meridian Community Services Group, Inc., by way submission of the
Multi -family Development and Residential Care Facility Hurricane Repair Program Application for
Assistance. This grant requires no County match. If awarded, the funding will be used to repair or replace
items at Bayshore Manor that were damaged in Hurricane Wilma.
Once the application is approved, Meridian will conduct a write up, including all specs, time frames, labor,
materials, etc. After the write up is done, the job will go out to bid. It is our understanding that Meridian
will hire the contractors and laborers to do the work.
Successful award of this funding will free up County funds that would otherwise be needed in the near term
to complete these repairs at Bayshore Manor. Staff supports the approval of this agenda item.
