TO: County Administrator
FROM: Cary Vick
SUBJECT: Release of Contingency for: FL KEYS MARATHON AIRPORT NON-
AERONAUTICAL USE BUILDING (EOC)
Action Requested: Approval for RELEASE of contingency funds in the
amount of $ 1,626.00 as outlined below.
Basis for Recommended Action:
1. The requested release does not increase the total cost of the project as approved by the
BOCC, and it will have no impact to contract time.
2. The scope for which the release is requested is within the intended project scope.
3. The release is not based upon an error or omission by the designer or the general
contractor.
Background:
This is a cost change to the Contingency related to RFI 289, dated 11/28/2023, to furnishing and
installing 208V 1-phase power for the fire alarm power supplies in lieu of 120V originally shown,
including changing the circuit breaker size in panel ESP.

Question Question from Jeffrey Whipple Ajax Building Company,LLC on Wednesday, Nov 8,2023 at 11:28 AM EST
There are currently 2 power supplies needed for the Fire alarm. One dedicated 2-pole 20Amp circuit breaker can feed both of
these power supplies. After meeting with our FA subcontractor,we confirmed that these power supplies will correctly function
on 208V as opposed to the 240V shown on the cut sheet. Based on this information,we recommend making the following
changes to Panel ESP:
1. Move the ATS annunciator panel from CK#70 to CK#11.This will free up CK#'s 70 and 72 for the 2-pole 20Amp
Circuit breaker.
2. Use CK#9 for FA panel and amplifier.
See attached RFI-289 Sketch and advise if moving the ATS annunciator panel to CK#11 and utilizing CK#70 and 72 for the
FA power supply is acceptable.

TLC takes no exception to the proposed 2-pole, 20A circuit breaker at ESP-70,72 based on
the fire alarm power supplies' electrical characteristics confirmed by the Contractor.

Subject: Monroe EOC RFI 289 Update
This Message Is From an External Sender
This message came from outside your organization. Please remember to never enter your TLC credentials into any links from outside the
organization.
Team, we have recently updated RFI 289 with the following changes:
1. The previous version requested 2x 2pole breakers to feed the two FA power supplies but in reality we only need 1 which
was updated on the most recent version.
2. The new version contains a suggested solution to fitting the new 2-pole breaker in panel ESP by relocating the generator
annunciator circuit. This is where all the other FA equipment is fed from. (see attached sketch for clarity)
Please replace the old version of RFI-289 that is currently under review with the new version. Call me with any questions or
concerns and have a great Thanksgiving.
Respectfully,
Jeffrey Whipple
