November IS, 2006
Monroe County Airport
AT1N: Bevette
Dear Bevette:
It is with deep regret that I must give notice that my
last day for my company to clean the airport will be
November 30,2006. . ~ *-'Ap.-" 70 ~c...-.."'~ I S. 9-.0.'
The main factor is fmancial. I am having a dispute with
my factoring company, Aegis Factors, who advances
the money for payroll.
The breakdown of the $14348.67 is as follows:
Payroll $9600 to $10,000 a month
Insmance as required: $500 a month
Supplies: $1000 a month
Then I am paying Aegis to fund my money for payroll
at approximately $700.00 a month.
I realize that the county almost always takes the lowest
bidder, but the above breakdown is a true accounting of
having 5 full time workers for the 24/7 operation of the
airport, and truthfully, two more workers are needed.
The money that I do make (about $2148 a month) goes
to income ~es.
Another reason for my leaving is the harrassment over the
last 2 years from Maria Slavik about my insurance. It is a
constant battle dealing with Nat Cassel and Maria. When
...
Maria did not understand how a bond worked (that it
continues year to year and there would not be a "binder"
sent to her yearly), that took awhile to straighten out and
took up alot of everybodys time. Insurance requirements are
steadily rising every year. Now a $100,000 bond is required
instead of the usual $10,000. These types of specialty bonds
are usually required for armored car companies- not cleaning
services. The auto liability has increased to 5300,000 and we
don't even drive on the ramp side. This alone costs me $1500
a year.
I will be paying my workers thru the end of November out of
my own pocket while the dispute with Aegis Factors is worked
out. Should a new company get in place, I am sme they would
continue to work until December 15th, as long as the new company
would hire them or pay them for the Dec. 15th payroll.
During Hurricane Wilma, I lost over $60,000 in equipment which
was not covered by my insurance. I will never recover this loss.
