ITEM BACKGROUND: The two (2) chippers will replace two (2) existing chippers that are fourteen
and sixteen years old. Both chippers are worn out and economically beyond repair.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: As part of the 2006-2007 budget process, the BOCC
allocated funds for replacement of two (2) tree/brush chippers.

Agenda Submission Memo For Two (2) New 18 Inch TreeIBrush Chippers
The attached BOCC agenda item is to purchase two (2) new 18 inch tree/brush chippers
to replace two (2) existing units, which are outdated and beyond economical repair.
After reviewing all bids, we were able to determine the lowest bid from "Florida Coast
Equipment" meets or exceeds all our requirements.
The Fleet Management Department's recommendation is for the County to provide a
purchase order to purchase two (2) new 18 inch treelbrush chippers from Florida Coast
Equipment in the total amount of$73,580.00.
