Lester Building-Space Planning 04/17/2024 TASK ORDER
FOR PROFESSIONAL ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING SERVICES
BETWEEN MONROE COUNTY AND K2M DESIGN, INC. FOR
LESTER BUILDING SPACE PLANNING
In accordance with the Agreement for Professional Architectural and Engineering Services, made
and entered into on January 18, 2023, between MONROE COUNTY, ("County") and K2M
DESIGN, INC., ("Consultant"), where professional services are allowed if construction costs do
not exceed $4,000,000.00, or for study activity if the fee for professional services for each
individual study under the contract does not exceed $500,000.00 ("Agreement").
All terms and conditions of the Agreement apply to this Task Order, unless this Task Order
amends, adds, or modifies a provision or an Article of the Agreement, in which case,the provision
or Article will be specifically referenced in this Task Order and the amendment, addition, or
modification thereof shall be precisely described.
This Task Order is effective on the 17th day of April , 2024.
WHEREAS,the Lester Building at Jackson Square in Key West previously housed the Supervisor
of Elections who has been moved to the old Bayshore Manor on Stock Island; and
WHEREAS, the County desires the Consultant to perform a space assessment of the building to
determine whether there is adequate space to accommodate the County Attorney department which
is currently leasing space in a non-Monroe County owned building.
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises and covenants set forth below, the
parties agree as follows:
1. In accordance with Article II, SCOPE OF BASIC SERVICES of the Agreement, the
Consultant shall perform a space planning study of the first floor of the Lester Building in
order to determine whether fourteen (14) offices, one (1) conference room for the County
Attorney usage and an additional three (3) offices. Deliverables shall comprise of a Space
Assessment Report with details including existing conditions, space requirements, code
considerations, and proposed floor plan.
2. In accordance with Article VII subparagraph 7.1.1 of the Agreement, the County shall pay
the Consultant a lump sum total of Four Thousand,Eight Hundred, Twenty and 00/100
dollars ($4,820.00) upon receipt of space assessment report and approval by the Director
of Project Management.
All other Terms and Conditions of the Agreement remain unchanged and in full force and effect.
