The tentative rate will increase by $45.71 per year(10%) to $502.86 per household/unit. ITEM BACKGROUND: The resolution sets the tentative residential sold waste, collection service rates for the upcoming Fiscal Year 2024-2025. The proposed rate is $502.86 per household/unit, an increase of$ 45.71/year. The total rate is proposed to increase from $457.15 to $502.86 (adjustment of 10%), which includes for the residential collection portion of the rate to increase from $220.58 to $242.64, the residential disposal portion from $177.43 to $195.17, and the residential recycling portion from $59.14 to $65.05. This proposed increase in the special assessment rate is needed to; 1.) Offset the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increase adjustment to franchisees and disposal contractors; 2.) Support collection and haul-out cost for the increase of illegal dumping; 3.) To ensure the fund balance remains healthy. The Board will consider adoption of the final solid waste special assessment at a Public Hearing to be held on August 21, 2024. The Board hereby adopts the following tentative rates for Collection of Residential Solid Waste: 1. For each single family home - $242.64 per annum; 2. For each mobile home- $242.64 per annum; 3. For each multi-family unit- $242.64 per annum. Section 2. The Board hereby adopts the following tentative rates for Disposal of Residential Solid Waste: 1. For each single family home - $195.17 per annum; 2. For each mobile home- $195.17 per annum; 3. For each multi-family unit- $195.17 per annum. Section 3. The Board hereby adopts the following tentative rates for Recycling of Residential Solid Waste: 1. For each single family home - $65.05 per annum; 2. For each mobile home- $65.05 per annum; 3. For each multi-family unit- $65.05 per annum. Section 4. The Board hereby adopts the following tentative rates for Fiscal year 2024-2025: 1. For each single family home - $502.86 per annum; 2. For each mobile home- $502.86 per annum; 3. For each multi-family unit- $502.86 per annum. Section 5. The Board hereby directs the Monroe County Clerk to transmit this executed Resolution to the Monroe County Property Appraiser and Monroe County Tax Collector.
