The attached Cooperative Agreement with the National Weather Service provides for a Supplementary Aviation Weather Reporting Station -II (SAWRS-II), where an observer provides backup to the ASOS. The observer will provide back-up for critical elements during ASOS outages, including the wind direction, speed and character, visibility, present weather, sky condition, temperature/dew point and altimeter setting. It will be the County's responsibility to provide, install, operate and maintain all manual or backup observing equipment.
