MEMORANDUM
Date: April 30, 2024
To: Monroe County Parks and Beaches, Attention: John Allen, Director
From: Alison Kerr, Director of Community Health, Florida Department of Health in Monroe County
Subject: Donation of Equipment to Bernstein Park for Stock Island PACE-EH Project
Dear Mr. John Allen,
The Florida Department of Health in Monroe County is writing to officially notify you of donations made
by the Florida Department of Health in Monroe County to support the Stock Island PACE-EH (Protocol
for Assessing Community Excellence in Environmental Health) Project.
Through grant funding from the Office of Minority Health, the Florida Department of Health in Monroe
County has gifted a commercial refrigerator, commercial freezer, and outdoor display board. These
items have been specifically allocated to address the needs identified within the Stock Island
community.
The Stock Island PACE-EH Project has highlighted the critical importance of tackling food security,
fostering increased social engagement, and enhancing communication channels within the community
of Stock Island. The donation of these items is intended to directly contribute to these objectives,
thereby enriching the experiences of residents and visitors alike at the public park and improving their
health.
We are confident that the addition of these resources will not only improve the quality of life for
individuals in Stock Island but also align with the mission of Monroe County Parks and Beaches to
create inclusive and accessible recreational spaces for all.
We express our deepest gratitude for your collaboration in this endeavor and look forward to witnessing
the positive impact these donations will have on the community.
Sincerely,
Alison Kerr, MPH
