Sirs:
Pursuant to law, I have directed that an audit be made of the
accounts and records of
HON. LOUIS CARBONELL
CLERK OF THE CRIMINAL COURT OF RECORD
MONROE COUNTY
For the period beginning Nay 1, 1961 ,
and ending July 31, 1963,
and present this report thereon.
COMMENTS
Prenumbered receipts were issued for all collections of record and
were entered in a cashbook, as required by Chapter 219. Florida Statutes.
All collections were deposited in an official bank account. No juror payrolls
or payroll advances were on hand at July 31, 1963.
Juror payroll receipts and disbursements during the audit period are
summarized as follows:
RECEIPTS FROM COMPTROLLER
FOR PAYROLL ADVANCES $26 , 500.00
DISBURSEMENTS :
JUROR PAYROLLS $ 9 , 107.35
REFUNDS TO COMPTROLLER 17 ,392.65
Total $26 ,500.00
Fines and costs from Criminal Court convictions were collected by the
Sheriff.

The Board of County Commissioners paid the Clerk' s monthly salary
of $500 as prescribed by Chapter 57-610, Acts of 1957. Correct retirement
deductions were made and remitted by the county.
The Clerk' s employee was paid by the county and proper retirement
deductions were made.
