Prior to my retirement, I was an executive of non profit and for profit organizations with budgets ranging from several million to over 40 million dollars, which also included managing federally funded grants. I understand the important role tourism plays in our economy and in creating the great quality of life we enjoy in the Florida Keys. I also live with the problems this successful industry creates for the residents of the Keys: expensive and scarce housing; traffic congestion on US 1 and narrow city streets; and over-crowded and perhaps over-used public spaces. I have been a diligent and attentive member of DAC 1 for the last 3 years, and would be honored to be reappointed by the BOCC for another term.
