. A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
Or-MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, IN RECOGNITION OF THE
LATE HELEN VAN ACHTERBERG DIVOLL.
WHEREAS, Ms. Helen Divolllived in Sugarloaf Shores for 21 years after traveling the world as
a Navy wife; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Divoll earned an engineering degree from the University of North Carolina
and worked as a design engineer for Bendix Aviation with the invention of several navigation
devices to her credit; and
WHEREAS, Ms. DivOII was active in the community, participating in many organizations
including League of Women Voters, TROA. Retired Officers Wives Club, Key West Garden Club,
and the Monroe County Code Enforcement Board; and
WHEREAS, Ms. DivOII was a volunteer for the American Red Cross for many years, working
in disaster assistance and veteran's affairs; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY,
FLORIDA that:
Section 1. The Board hereby adopts this Resolution as evidence of its regret and
mourning for the passing of the late Helen van Achterberg Divoll and in recognition of her
dedication and vast public service.
Section 2. The Board hereby requests the Clerk to forward copies of this Resolution to
Ms. Divoll's children, to express the Board's sorrow.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida,
at a regular meeting of the Board held on the 22ndciay of
