ITEM BACKGROUND:
This program was established to provide a means whereby the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners
may publicly acknowledge and monetarily reward the efforts of those County employees who demonstrate an
interest and dedication to a job performance above and beyond job expectations.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION:
The Monroe County Board of County Commissioners and the County Administrator determined that there was a
need to recognize outstanding performance of Monroe County employees. Reference(A) and previous actions
established an Employee of the Month/Employee of the Year program. At the August Personnel Policies and
Procedures Committee meeting, it was voted to revise the current award of a monthly award to a quarterly award.
The Employee of the Year award will remain as it is currently provided as part of this Administrative Instruction.

I could use many examples of why I think Krystal should be nominated for the Employee of the Quarter award, but I will
state just a few. The most recent, assisting the Administrator with the Senior Management and Commissioner Holiday get
together on December 19. Krystal spent many hours picking up and delivering food along with setting up for the event itself,
packing gift bags and ensuring everyone had what they needed.
Krystal is always ready to step up and assist wherever she is needed. Our office is known as the go-to office for answers on
many different topics, not just for staff but for constituents as well. Krystal believes in excellent customer service and is
always seeking to provide the best possible answer to any question she is asked. Not only does she assist Christine and I with
the day-to-day tasks, but she also assists other department heads that don't have assistants.
Not only does is she the Executive Administrator in the Admin office, but she is the agenda queen. She is always willing to
step in and make sure agenda items make it through the workflow in a timely manner, assists with any changes with back-up
or wording and ensures that members of the public receive copies when requested. .
Krystal always demonstrates a positive attitude, cooperation with co-workers,commissioners,constituents and department
heads. She is flexible and always willing to stay late to get the job done,no matter what it takes.
