His leadership has shaped the libraries into vibrant, community-centered hubs that adapt to changing needs while staying true to mission. Michael brings strategic thinking, wit, and a deep understanding of public service to everything he does. Michael's creative and timely approach to events and services resonates strongly with the public. As a result, our libraries are welcoming ever-increasing program attendees while circulation has reached its highest level in ten years, after navigating the challenges of Hurricane Irma recovery and the pandemic. Part of that transformation is embracing new platforms to serve people where they are, whether that's in our library, listening to an audiobook on their phone, or learning to code at home. Michael has shown a sharp instinct for what engages and inspires our community. Michael's ten years of service have left an undeniable mark—not just in numbers, but in the countless connections and moments of discovery he's fostered. During his free-time, Michael continues to support the Keys community, serving on the boards of the Literary Seminar and Tropic Cinema. Monroe County's literary experience is improved immeasurably by his contributions. Michael's work has elevated the library's role in Monroe County, proving that with the right leadership, public institutions can thrive and evolve. We are proud to honor his contributions and look forward to the continued impact of his work. 15
