ITEM BACKGROUND: There is a vacancy currently on the board. This appointment will fulfill the appointment term of Laurie Keiling through July19, 2026. Ms. Bush has lived in the Keys since 1990, and resided on Duck Key for 2 years. She is a 34-year teacher with the Monroe County School District. She has served on several student organizations at Coral Shores High School through the years as well as coaching sport teams and the Cannettes. She has served on the board of the Marine Mammal Conservancy, assisting in several marine mammal strandings, rehab, and releases. She is still active with the Save-A-Turtle organization as a beach nest surveyor, volunteers at the Marathon Wild Bird Center, and volunteers for local events such as the Celtic Festival. She works with the I-Care Foundation as a citizen scientist on reef replanting and maintaining, organized marine debris collection events, and the Annual Trash Derby Committee. I had jury duty in March (and I was selected as a juror) during the last meeting, and I'm flying out of Miami on the same day as the next meeting in May.
