Monroe County Commission Proclamation
Honoring La Isla Tree & Landscape
WHEREAS, La Isla Tree & Landscape, founded by John Pell, a certified arborist and
horticulturist with nearly 30 years of experience, operates from its headquarters at
81001 Overseas Highway in Islamorada, Florida, and has served the Florida Keys
community since late 2017 by delivering expert tree care and landscaping services from
Key Largo to Key West; and
WHEREAS, the company provides a comprehensive range of services, including tree
trimming, pruning, disease prevention, safe tree removal, landscape design, installation,
maintenance, irrigation systems, and seasonal planting, all tailored to the unique coastal
ecosystem of the Florida Keys; and
WHEREAS, La Isla Tree & Landscape is committed to sustainable, environmentally
responsible practices, utilizing eco-friendly methods and products to ensure that the
region's landscapes remain healthy, vibrant, and resilient year-round; and
WHEREAS, the company's mission is to care for and remain accountable for the trees
and green spaces in the community, fostering safe, healthy, and aesthetically pleasing
environments throughout the Keys; and
WHEREAS, La Isla Tree & Landscape was founded in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma
and has since demonstrated exceptional resilience and commitment to the rebuilding
and beautification of Monroe County through its services and community presence; and
WHEREAS, the Florida Small Business Development Center (FSBDC) at Florida
International University (FIU), established in 2014 under FIU's College of Business,
expanded its services to Monroe County in October 2018, providing expert business
consulting through a team of highly experienced local professionals; and
WHEREAS, on June 18, 2025, the FSBDC at FIU honored La Isla Tree & Landscape as
the recipient of the 2025 Keys Client of the Year for Monroe County, recognizing the
company's entrepreneurial achievements, local economic impact, and dedication to
sustainable business growth.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JIM SCHOLL, Mayor of Monroe County, together with the
Monroe County Commission, do hereby recognize and commend the outstanding
service, innovation, and dedication of
LA ISLA TREE & LANDSCAPE
and urge all citizens, residents, and visitors to join in celebrating this remarkable
accomplishment.
