Tony Perez 10 years of service.docx FINANCIAL IMPACT: N/A 23 Tony Perez is being recognized for 10 years of service with Monroe County Fire Rescue. His wife Katie and children, Nathan and Noah, are here with him today to celebrate this milestone. During his tenure he has served at all of the fire stations and communities throughout unincorporated Monroe County. Currently he is the C Shift Lieutenant at Station 10, servicing the Sugarloaf Key area. He also works as a Flight Medic on Trauma Star. Lieutenant Perez began his journey in the fire service after taking a first responder course. He completed his fire 1, 2 and Paramedic certifications at Miami Dade Fire College. Since then, he has obtained many certifications such as Instructor 1, Critical Care Paramedic and is a Florida Urban Search and Rescue Specialist. He recently taught Vehicle and Machinery Rescue Operations to MCFR personnel at the Joe London Fire Academy. Lt. Perez said, "Looking back at my career thus far, I can't help but feel a sense of pride and gratitude. One minute I'm reporting to headquarters to pick up my uniform, and the next I'm in a leadership position, responsible for the wellness of others. I feel like this transition was made much smoother by a quote that a mentor imparted upon me, "Esse quam videri"which means to 'be' rather than to 'seem.' For better or worse, those words have molded who I have become these last 10 years, and who I hope to be for the rest of my career." 24 Liz Yongue From: Gomez-Krystal <Gomez-Krystal@MonroeCounty-FL.Gov> Sent: Monday, June 16, 2025 8:46 AM To: Ballard-Lindsey; County Commissioners and Aides; Kevin Madok; Pamela Hancock; Senior Management Team and Aides; Liz Yongue; InternalAudit Cc: Shillinger-Bob; Williams-Jethon; Cioffari-Cheryl; Livengood-Kristen; Rubio-Suzanne; Pam Radloff; County-Attorney; Allen-John; Danise Henriquez; Hurley-Christine; Rosch- Mark; Gambuzza-Dina; Beyers-John; InternalAudit; Kevin Madok; Valcheva-Svilena; Powell-Barbara; Guerra-Cynthia; Powell-Barbara Subject: Item B6 BOCC 06/18/2025 DELETION Attachments: AIS B6.pdf Good morning, Please be advised that the agenda item B6 has been deleted.
