HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/17/2025 Special MINUTES OF THE MONROE COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Special Meeting Board of County Commissioners Tuesday, June 17, 2025 Key Largo, Florida& Via Communication Media Technology A special meeting of the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners convened at 4:00 p.m. at the Murray Nelson Government Center in Key Largo, and via Communication Media Technology. Present and answering to roll call were Commissioner Michelle Lincoln, Commissioner Holly Merrill Raschein, Commissioner David Rice, and Mayor James K. Scholl. Also present at the meeting were Christine Hurley, County Administrator; Bob Shillinger, County Attorney; Liz Yongue, Deputy Clerk; county staff, members of the press and radio; and the general public. Clerk Kevin Madok was absent from the meeting. ADDITIONS, CORRECTIONS & DELETIONS A There were no Additions, Corrections or Deletions to the agenda. Motion was made by Commissioner Raschein and seconded by Commissioner Lincoln granting approval of the agenda. Motion carried unanimously. Upon roll call, all Commissioners physically present responded to their names, with Commissioner Cates participating remotely via Zoom. RESILIENCE DEPARTMENT B 1 Rhonda Haag, Chief Resilience Officer, addressed the Board regarding a loth Amendment to the Contract with HDR, Inc., for the Roads Vulnerability Analysis and Capital Plan for County-maintained Roads, for professional technical support for the evaluation and presentation of additional roadway design alternatives for the Stillwright Point community, to supplement initial recommendations, in the amount of$25,333.06. After discussion, motion was made by Commissioner Lincoln and seconded by Commissioner Rice to grant approval and authorize execution of the Amendment. Motion carried unanimously. B2 Ms. Haag addressed the Board and introduced Erin L. Deady, P.A.; Judy Clarke, Director of Engineering/Roads & Bridges; Emilio Corrales, representing HDR Engineering, Inc.; and Greg Corning, representing WSP USA, Inc. Erin L. Deady, P.A., gave a Power Point Presentation on the State environmental resource rules, statutes and regulations related to the roadway adaptation projects. B3 Emilio Corrales, representing HDR Engineering, Inc., and Erin L. Deady, P.A., gave a Power Point Presentation on potential options for roadway adaptation for Stillwright Point, and Page 11 6/17/2025 services performed under the contract with HDR Engineering, Inc., for the Roads Vulnerability Analysis. Christine Hurley, County Administrator, addressed the Board. The following individuals addressed the Board: Kim Sikora, Emilie Stewart, and Stetson Hindes. Ms. Clarke addressed the Board. Additional discussion was held with members of the audience. Mr. Shillinger addressed the Board. There being no further business, the meeting of the Board of County Commissioners was adjourned.
