HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem G8 2:73 2:74 RESOLUTION NO. ________ APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION OF THE MONROE COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN LAND AUTHORITY APPROVING $1,382,856 IN CONSTRUCTION FUNDING TO THE CITY OF KEY WEST FOR THE KEY WEST HOUSING AUTHORITYÓS CONVERSION OF THE ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY AT POINCIANA GARDENS TO PERMANENT AFFORDABLE HOUSING ON PROPERTY LEGALLY DESCRIBED AS A PORTION OF LOTS 1-12, BLOCK 18, KEY WEST FOUNDATION COMPANY'S PLAT NO. 2 AS RECORDED IN PLAT BOOK 1, AT PAGE 189, LOCATED AT 1664 DUNLAP DRIVE, KEY WEST, FLORIDA, AND BEING MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS SHOWN IN EXHIBIT A, WITH ID# 00054250-000000, SUBJECT TO A LAND USE RESTRICTION AGREEMENT (LURA), AND WITH DISBURSEMENT OF THE FUNDING PENDING AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS, RECEIPT OF AN UPDATED PROFORMA VERIFYING CONSTRUCTION COSTS, AND RECEIPT OF BUILDING PERMITS FROM THE CITY OF KEY WEST; AND AUTHORIZING THE CHAIRMAN AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT THE RESOLUTION. ______________________________________________ WHEREAS, as evidenced by Resolution 25-244, the City of Key West has requested the Monroe County Comprehensive Plan Land Authority (hereinafter MCLA) provide $1,382,856 to the City of Key West for the Key West Housing AuthorityÓs project to convert the Poinciana Gardens Senior Living Complex Assisted Living Facility to permanent affordable housing, on land described in Exhibit A, in Key West at Poinciana Plaza (ÐSubject PropertyÑ); and WHEREAS, the City of Key West has requested $1,382,856 be disbursed during MCLAÓs fiscal year 2026; and WHEREAS, Section 380.0666(3)(a), Florida Statues, empowers MCLA to utilize tourist impact tax revenue in the Key West fund toward the construction of affordable housing in Key West; and WHEREAS, said permanent affordable housing units will be limited for income eligible households whose income does not exceed 160 percent of the Area Median Income in accordance with section 380.0666(3)(a), Florida Statues; and WHEREAS, the Land Authority Advisory Committee considered this resolution at a meeting held on September 24, 2025 and voted 4/0 to recommend approval; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MONROE COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN LAND AUTHORITY: Section 1.
