Re: Termination of Agreement for Volunteer Fire Rescue and Ambulance Services
Dear Chief Pollock:
In recognition of our mutual desire to amicably terminate the above-referenced Agreement dated October
1, 1992 (as amended) by and between Monroe County (Board of County Commissioners acting through
the then-existing Municipal Services Taxing District 5) ("we," "us," or "our") and Tavernier Volunteer
Fire and Ambulance Corps, Inc. (with current legal name Tavernier Volunteer Fire Department and
AmbulanceCorp., Inc.) ("you" or "your"), please allow this letter to serve as our official notification of
termination of our Agreement effective at 11:59 PM on December 31, 2025.
Please discontinue all work under the Agreement. Additionally, consistent with Section 28 of the
Agreement, "all vehicles and equipment owned and/or leased by the District[us] or Monroe County and
used by the Department [you] to provide Fire Rescue Services shall be returned to the District[us] when
requested upon expiration or termination of this Agreement." Prior to the appointed termination date,
please return all equipment or items in your possession or in the possession of your organization that fall
within the ambit of the cited section. Additionally, please provide any and all records that you were
required to maintain in the performance of your duties and obligations under the Agreement, including
but not limited to, obligations listed in Section 5, "Minimum Standards and Training," Section 7,
"Vehicles, Equipment, and Facilities," Section 8, "Property Control," Section 9, "Subcontracts," Section
17, "Maintenance and Records Custodian," and Section 22, "Expense Request," of the Agreement,
including the revised Attachment"I"to the Amendment Number 1 to the Agreement.
