AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval to Cancel the Request for Proposal for Establishing and
Maintaining Sales of Digital Advertising on the Florida Keys & Key West Website.
ITEM BACKGROUND:
Approval to advertise this RFP was approved by the TDC at their July 29, 2025 meeting and by the
BOCC at the August 20, 2025 meeting.
During the October 28, 2025 TDC meeting the TDC discussed this RFP and the growth of AI-powered
search tools and digital assistants that help travelers find and book experiences. As these tools look for
structured information and listings rather than ads or banners, the TDC moved approval to request that
the BOCC cancel this RFP. The TDC directed staff to explore other ways to represent partners.
The Monroe County Purchasing Policy allows for the BOCC to abandon request for competitive
solicitations.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION:
The BOCC on 8/20/25 gave approval to advertise this RFP.
