AGENDA ITEM WORDING: A public hearing to consider approval of a resolution amending the
fiscal year 2026 budget for Fund 163, Court Facilities Fees.
ITEM BACKGROUND:
The purpose of the budget amendment is to bring forward accrued fund balance so it may be made
available for use in the current fiscal year. Fund 163 receives specific fee revenue that must be
expended exclusively in providing and maintaining existing and future facilities for the use of the
Circuit and County Court systems. The proposed budget amendment will bring forward $516,503.49 of
additional fund balance to be used to upgrade court related security access systems.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION:
On November 12, 2025, the BOCC gave approval to advertise a public hearing for a budget amendment
to Fund 163.
On September 10, 2025, the BOCC approved the operating & capital budget for fiscal year 2026.

A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE RECEIPT OF UNANTICIPATED FUNDS
WHEREAS,it is necessary to conduct a public hearing as required by section 129.06,Florida Statutes,to amend the following:
Court Facilities Fees Fund 163 for the fiscal year beginning October 1,2025 and ending September 30,2026,now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY,FLORIDA,that a Public Hearing was
conducted on December 10,2025 to amend the Court Facilities Fees Fund 163 and to adopt the amended budgets as follows:
