Resolution 251-1996 Planninq Dept. 0\ --- N , N a.. y N , --l ::=l L-.2 -:l '---; , ~ ....- RESOLUTION NO. 251-1996 Ai RESOLUTION BY THE MONROE COUNTY BOARD OF CQMMISSIONERS APPROVING AN EXEMPTION FROM THE ~ONRESIDENTIAL PERMIT ALLOCATION SYSTEM FOR LOWER FLORIDA KEYS HEALTH SYSTEM FOR PROPERTY ~L~ATED AT 29755 U.S. 1, SECTION 27, TOWNSHIP 66 S~TH, RANGE 29 EAST, TALLAHASSEE MERIDIAN, BIG 4- PINE KEY, MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, MILE MARKER 29.5. WHEREAS, the Development Review Committee during a regular meeting held on April 9th, 1996, approved the minor conditional use request filed by Lower Florida Keys Health System for property located at 29755 Overseas Highway in Section 27, Township 66 South, Range 29 East, Tallahassee Meridian, Big Pine Key, Monroe County, Florida, Mile Marker 29.5; and WHEREAS, the proposed development comprises a 2,000 square foot expansion to an existing 1,950 square foot medical office building; and WHEREAS, Policy 101.3.4 of the Year 2010 comprehensive plan, allows the Board of County Commissioners to exempt federally tax-exempt nonprofit organizations from the nonresidential permit allocation system after a finding by the Planning Commission that such activity will not adversely affect the hurricane evacuation objectives of the comprehensive plan; and WHEREAS, Lower Florida Keys Health System has requested an exemption from the nonresidential permit allocation system; and WHEREAS, on March 21, 1996, the Planning Commission heard the request of Lower Florida Keys Health System for an exemption and recommended approval of the request to the Board of County Commissioners based on the following findings of fact: 1.
